April Odds and Ends

Kolby joined the girls for a fun game daddy/daughter night at the church.

Now that's the perfect head for a whipped cream/Cheetos toss!

We made a little trip out to Twin Falls to help Nana Betty celebrate her birthday!

We had an enjoyable lunch at Denny's . . .

. . . and then had a little carrot cake!

Gramp and Klive are pretty good buddies. Klive doesn't trust just anyone with his special stuffed animals!

June's just about wrapped up her 6th grade year.  She has really enjoyed her first year of middle school and hasn't been scarred by the experience at all! She's loved being a part of chamber orchestra. I'm pretty sure she's the only 6th grader that made it into the elite group. She continues to get straight A's in all her classes and I get lovely reports about her character from her teachers. She's got some great friends and is very grateful that her mom finally let her ride the bus this year!

Winnie still loves school! Third grade has been a great year! She's loved her teacher, Mrs. Simpson. She's also branched out and made a few more friends! She enjoys playing chess with Caden and Ellee, writing stories, doing art projects and running like crazy at recess! I think her favorite part of the year was her class Harry Potter party - yes, her mom threw it!  We mixed potions, played HP bingo, decorated house cookies, and made pencil wands! Kids from other classes were trying to get in! Now that's how you celebrate finishing the first Harry Potter book as a class!

This nut is looking forward to the summer and having some sisters home to play with! He's got all his letters down and has started reading some early reader books! Now he's ready for kindergarten! He's still not a a fan of the letter movies I picked up - they require dancing and singing and we are only allowed to practice our letter moves with the blinds pulled down and the curtains closed! He would be mortified if any of his buddies or ladies saw him busting a move! He escapes to his make-believe lands in the yard whenever he can and he is still Dad's best helper with the yard work!

Klive's favorite hideout - our plum tree in the front yard in full bloom! Is it normal for your kid to have a tree for a friend?

Last but not least, Kolby and I celebrated our 15-year anniversary! We're still going strong and these years seem to be flying by!
