Every year, Kolby and I try to top the pranks we pulled on our kids the previous April Fools Day. I have to admit, this year will be pretty difficult to outdo!
Kolby and I spent the last day of March working on these beautiful t-shirts - one for each kid! We then had to come up with a way to get them on their bodies without them knowing about the dad face looming on their backs.
It was brilliant! We woke the girls up in a frazzle and told them they were late for school. I then proceeded to dress them like five-year-olds and put them in their coats to hide the shirts. Klive is used to this treatment so he took little convincing. The girls knew something was up, but I distracted the focus from the shirts by playing it like the early wake-up call was the joke.
We sent them off to school with their dad on their back and let the embarrassment ensue! Sadly, the joke backfired. Even though several school children pointed, laughed, and asked, "What's so awesome about your dad?" These three LOVED their shirts. They now wear them all the time. It's a good thing we had another trick up our sleeves! We filled their thermoses with sprite instead of water. It was supposed to be a nice surprise, but mom forgot about the properties of carbonation shaken up in an airtight container. It was truly embarrassing when their drinks exploded all over the lunch table and soaked everyone in a a 20-foot radius! The joke was literally on them!
