The Beginning of Kolby's Obsession with Doomsday Prepping

Nana Deb makes a lot of friends across the country while talking to people on the phone about Real Salt and Redmond Clay. One such woman was friendly enough to invite Nana and us to their utopian, self-sustaining farm at Bear Lake. Apparently Kolby has always secretly had dreams of living off grid, growing our own crops year round, raising our own livestock, creating our own power source and having a basement full of freeze-dried food storage to keep us alive during the zombie apocalypse. Kolby and Nana were totally taking notes!
The rest of us were just enamored with the cute goats!

Look at those faces! Who has time to worry about the survival of humanity when you can spend your afternoon feeding animal crackers to these fellas!

I could have taken one home as a pet - especially this friendly guy with an overbite that I lovingly named "Phteven with a PH."

Well I literally fell asleep on the job as the navigator in the front seat resulting in an extra 2 hour drive to get to the farm and Bear Lake, but it turned out to be a really good day - even if Kolby has since been forced to make his Pinterest account private due to his pinning obsession with end of days, underground bunkers, and hydroponics methods to produce and fertilize our food with fish poop. People might start to worry about him. He turns more into his father every day!
