He Gave it the Ol' College Try

Klive decided he was going to give team soccer a try this fall.   He really wanted to have his own sports jersey and spiky shoes like his sisters.

He had some great teammates and a very kind, patient coach.  He really enjoyed practice.

Unfortunately, the fear set in during the games.  He spent both quarters trying to avoid all contact with the ball and stay as far away from the other players as possible.

Shutting your eyes and tucking your arms into your jersey is a good way to avoid playing the game.

He excelled at drinking water - hydration is super important.  He also LOVED sitting on the bench with his team.

I told him I needed a few shots of him in action so he kicked the ball with great precision during warm-ups.  He also paid attention to the game from afar.  He hated when the other team scored and usually threw up his hands and shouted "Dang It!"
So it was a great first try at organized sports.

Kicking a ball might not be his forte.  He's now decided he'd like to try golf.

At least he could commiserate on the field with his buddy, Isaiah - who cried through every game too.
