It doesn't shame me to admit that most of my deep conversations these days are with these two goof-balls. June is so full of philosophical questions, and Winnie is always ready with a snappy comeback. So here's the latest conversations around our lunch table:
June: Mom, are you 83?Me: No, I'm 28, but thanks for making me feel old.
June: So next you will be 29, and then 30, and then . . .
Winnie: You will turn into a dog?
June: Will you die when you are 100?
Winnie: No June, Mom will die in 10 minutes. I will never not die, cuz I will turn into a dog when I grow up.
I'm glad we got things cleared up.
Later, in the bathroom while doing June's hair, we were having a nice conversation about baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost. I explained what the Holy Ghost is and how he helps us make good choices and be safe. You know, one of those mother moments you hope the Lord witnessed to prove you weren't always a neglectful mother. Then June, with a look of sadness mixed with desperation, said, "Mom, I need to whisper something to you. My teacher at church told me that Jesus knows everything . . . even things that moms and dads don't know. So the other night I prayed that Jesus would tell me when my teeth would fall out, and he hasn't answered me. Why???"
Anyone want to help me out? My answer of, "Some things we just don't need to know," is really not cutting it. And why is she so obsessed with loosing her teeth?
And here's baby number 3. I'm tired just thinking about it.

I'm surprised you got a pic of baby #3! How far along are you?? Winnie kills me!! :-) I hope when I grow up I will turn into a dog too...they have the best life really - carefree, playing with toys, laying around eating all day. The dog really has the perfect life!
ha ha! love it. Well, part of coming to earth is to lose patience. If God told us everything that was going to happen and when, we'd never learn patience and we'd never talk to him. that's my 2 cents ;)
Ask winnie if you can turn into a dolphin instead of a dog. I feel like they have more fun.
Um, and that "lose" should be to "learn"... Freudian slip!
I'd tell June that she needs to do some more research and work before she can expect her prayer to be answered. I love Winnie's snappy comeback.
I think the teeth thing is Kelsey's fault... her two bottom teeth fell out over Christmas. Early, I know. Olivia was the last to lose teeth in her first grade class, so Kelsey is REALLY early by our standards!
Cute stories, though. Winnie is full of ideas, isn't she?
I'm with Jenn and Winnie on the dog thing. I, too, would like to be a dog when I grow up. Good luck with the tooth thing. And I'm excited to see bean #3! Hooray!
Yay!!! Congrats! I am so happy for you. When do you find out if it's a boy or a girl? You have the cutest kids. I loved reading your conversation over dinner. Your kids make me laugh. Please don't tell me that we are 83, will turn into dogs, or will die in 10 minutes. I have enough on my mind. haha.
I have no clue what to tell June about. Good luck with that. :)
Those girls! So sweet. Can't wait for number 3!
