A major loss!!!
On Sunday, the unthinkable happened! Our computer's hard drive crashed. I know it's not the end of the world, but we, being the idiots that we are, hadn't backed up anything and we lost everything! We bought this computer in the fall and had planned on getting an external hard drive, but just never got around to it. I'm not sure why, but the videos we have posted on our blog are no longer on it. It is a little confusing, since I posted them online and expected them to be here when I pulled up my blog, but they have vanished. So, I guess all we can do is pick ourselves up, dry our eyes from the loss of such wonderful imagery, and move on. Kolby has promised to force the girls to re-enact every cute thing they did this past year and capture it once again, but I'm not very optimistic about it. Please heed this advice - BACK UP EVERYTHING!!! DON'T LEARN THIS LESSON THE HARD WAY!!!

Aack! That sucks. What a nightmare. I'm so sorry you lost everything. If I has magic techno skills I'd help you out, but in the past 6 months I've blown up a computer, a router, a laptop, a printer, a radiator, and now the transmission is going out on our truck. I never drive it, but Cole still blames me. I'm bad news. Just turn your blog into a book, so at least you'll still have some of the pics.
I'm so sorry. I feel for you. My laptop crashed a few years ago, and I had diligently kept a journal on it. I still ache to read my journal from those law school years, not to mention look at a few pictures that were ONLY on that computer. Thanks for the reminder to back up.
Oh no! That happened to me once! I was SO MAD at Luke because I kept telling him to back up the photos and he never did! Ugh! So annoying! I feel for ya!
jess, i can still view your videos on your blog so maybe there is still hope. tish and i are working on getting together all the pics we have of the girls. i do have some cute ones!
AWW what a bummer!! I recently lost everything on my laptop so I know how you feel!! I have def. learned my lesson the hard way too!
Hey jess! sorry about the computer. I am a retard when it comes to stuff like that. I am excited for you to come, for sure we can work on those toes of yours. Haha. I cant believe the new kids on the block r back. I was watchin the morning show the other day and they were on, I was speachless. I don't know what to think about it yet. well call us when you get here.
eep. lo siento! When i dropped my laptop and lost everything i wanted to cry. I think i might have actually! no photos of graduation... journal, etc. etc. i feel your pain my child.
I wonder if you took your computer somewhere if they could extract some of the stuff back out, I think the I.T. guys at Misty's work did that when hers crashed, it might be worth a try. I am offering right now to buy you an external hard drive, please take me up on, no one should have to go through that drama! The pictures!
Note to June and Win, thank you ever so much for the totally awesome and wonderful gifts, grandpa babe and I are simply loving the books, I love the socks because I really am "miss naughty" I can't help it, I try to be good, but is is so hard. I am using the amazing bag for a tote, yesterday it was a bike stuff bad, sundays it is a nursery bag, I guess it is just a whatever i need bag. Go to my blog and check out the disaster that it my yard now. Grandpa has also ordered new windows and new kitchen cabinets....so many projects, so little brains.....Have you figured out when you are coming home for sure yet? and how did Kolby do on his finals? I just need to call you, but lately we have not been around. I hope things will simmer down soon. Love you guys. Yaya.
Isn't it crazy how dependent we have become on computers! I had to take mine in this last week to have some stuff updated and fixed and I was amazed at how much extra time I found. Instead of checking bank misc, business stuff, emails, blogs, and every other time consuming thing, I actually spent more time with my kids. I am however, extremely behind now that I have it back so it was probably a good thing I spent extra time with the kids last week because they may be abandoned this week!:) I too appreciate the back up reminder!
