Grease lightning!

Okay, so here's my dilemma.  Tonight I was digging a thorn out of June's foot as she screamed and gnashed her teeth!  I took my eye off of mischievous Winnie for a total of 2 minutes when she came rolling into the bathroom covered in Eucerin cream - if you haven't used it, let me just say it is the thickest, oiliest cream ever - I use it on Winnie for her Eczema.  I would have taken a picture but I was too busy yelling my butt off at June for getting the cream down in the first place.  We scrubbed Winnie in the tub for about a half an hour and the only thing that would break through the grease was shampoo - I think she is sufficiently clean, not to mention thoroughly moisturized.  Now I'm trying to get this lovely lotion out of my carpet.  Yes, I should have seen it coming when I didn't hear a peep from the girls' room.  She decided to moisturize herself, her rug, the carpet, her dresser, her laundry basket and all of her doll house toys.  I have been able to scrub it out of everything except the carpet.  So, anybody got any good greasy carpet-cleaning tips?

I am so sorry. I havn't had that happen yet so I have no advice. I hate when stuff like that happens but it does make me feel better when other mothers yell at their kids:) To make you feel a tiny bit better, when we were building our house we moved in with Richard's perfectionist mom. I love her but her house is spotless ALL OF THE TIME. (and I had just had Paige, so the stress level was super high trying to keep her house perfect) One morning while I was nursing Paige, Reese dumped a whole bottle of ajax all over her beautiful dark walnut hardwood floor. Yah, I cried as I scrubbed on my hands and knees for 2 hours to get it out. But, it was still in the crackes between the wood slats. So I mopped it 20 times and it was the worst day of my life. I then called my flooring people and cancled my order of hardwood and put linolium in my house. Good luck, I'll be thinking about you.
Oh, my mother in law uses scrubbing bubbles on everything. That might work.

I had this same thing happen to me when Alexis one. I was watching a friends boy, and they got into some Resinal... it is pink, and she put it all over his hair, clothes, my carpet, the rug, toys... and anything else around her. I scrubbed everything, and it came out of most of the things, but wouldn't come out of the little boys hair for at least a month. He already had strawberry blonde hair, but this made it look really pink! as for the carpet, there was a stain for almost two years, and then I had some carpet cleaners come, and they used some heavy duty stuff on it and it came out!
If I were you, I would try boiling water and you put it on little by little and they get a towel and soak it up. I got a can of paint out of my carpet by doing that, but that is a whole other story.... if that doesn't work, dawn dish soap it great at getting ride of greasy stuff like that.

Try putting a paper bag or paper towels over the spots, then a warm iron- like people do w/candle wax. The warmth should "liquify" the grease enough to soak up at least a little of it.
