Practice Time!!!

Okay Papa Lee, here's some proof that we're not slacking off!  Every time I get my mandolin out to practice, a couple of little helpers want to join the jam session!  So far we have been working on a bluegrass version of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star."  I think it sounds pretty swell!  June got this special fiddle from her Papa this past Christmas, and is currently trying to grow into it so that she can start some real lessons!  Winnie's just dabbling in piano at the moment, but from what I hear, Papa's already got her instrument all picked out - an accordion!  Heaven knows she's got the girth to pack one, but I don't think she's at all interested in the nerdy stigma attached to such an instrument.  I think we'll just get her a mandolin or maybe a banjo and we can be the Okie Chicks!

You are a great mom, I wish I had any musical talent to pass on to my kids or teach them but they are out of luck. When we were moving Ty found an old recorder of mine and I tried my rendition of "Mary had a little lamb" and it was not very well received.

Thanks for putting Junie's song on the blog. Caulder loved it. He said, "Did you hear Junie singing? It's beautiful!" I think he has a crush on her. I guess it's okay to be in love with your cousin when you're only 2!

Glad to see that they're inheriting some of you, Jess. Keep working on it, you'll soon have a full-fledged band.

Man, I don't check your blog for a day and you have 2 new posts. Lucky me. Your girls are so stinking cute. And A+ for being mother of the year, I hope my kids will play some sort of musical instrament, but probably not when they are 2 like your kiddo's.
