We made the last-minute decision to make a trip up to Wyoming and back in time over Labor Day weekend. It was the Fort Bridger Rendezvous, so I did some crazy-fast sewing and threw together these pioneer outfits. Look at my pretty little pioneers!
Nana Deb made some outfits, too! You have to dress in period costume to get in for free, so I suppose all the frantic sewing was worth it! Next year, June decided she'd rather be an Indian boy in a loin cloth!
Here's Papa Lee and his BFF Rob. They've been playing music together for years. Of course, his real best pal is this little guy.
We enjoyed a few days of fresh air, rendezvous trading and old-fashioned root beer! Klive and Winnie did more shopping than I do at the outlet malls! They came home with loads of vintage beads, trinkets, weapons, and animal skins to get them through a long, cold winter.
We all discovered a little more about our pioneer past at the museum.
But the real reason we went to the rendezvous was, as always, to play music. June made her fiddlin' debut with Papa and Rob.
I guess she's a professional now, because she put a hat out for tips and made over $100 in two days!
We had a great time, especially Klive, who found a buffalo buddy at the gift shop. He named him Horny. And Horny goes everywhere with us now. Thanks, Wyoming!
